DJ Tennis, one of the brains and co-founders behind the Life and Death label, has been added to the line up of the ever popular Rhythm and Alps Festival – taking place from the 29th of December 2018 until the 1st of January 2019. This festival is without a doubt set in one of the scenic places in the world, deep within the epically beautiful Cardrona Valley of NZ’s Southern Alps. 

His 2017 release in the long running DJ Kicks series showed us just how far his musical muscles can flex – from the downtempo mood pieces that introduce the episode, through to the disco, house and techno he’s already known for. Combine this with his varied releases and remixes over the years and there’s no doubting that the addition of DJ Tennis to the already ridiculously huge line up will make this years Rhythm and Alps edition a New Years mission worth making. 

Once referred to as the ‘Gentleman of Techno’, the renowned figurehead of the international techno scene, music writer, producer and owner of Poker Flat Recordings, Steve Bug is bringing his refined tech flavours to Auckland City, right into the dark depths of Auckland’s newest secret warehouse location.
Credited with the pioneering of the tech house sound, Steve Bug’s instantly recognisable “Loverboy” was first released onto the airwaves in 1999, and is still running strong in timeless fashion to this day, with his releases over the years consistently reinforcing his position as one of the main players in the international techno scene.
Presented by Beat & Path Recordings, we’re bringing back the warehouse parties of old, reminiscent of the thriving electronic scenes over the ditch and beyond – taking it back to the old school while keeping it fresh and totally new school with the absolute best in lighting and sound.
It has been a long time between ventures on to New Zealand’s shores for Steve Bug, and to say we’re all excited would be a massive understatement.
